Saving Land the Fun Way!
La Plata Open Space Conservancy’s Snowdown Wine Tasting and Fine Art Exhibition has become one of the best attended nonprofit fundraisers in Durango, and it is fast becoming one of the most popular art shows, as evidenced by record crowds and art sales over the last few years. The event kicks off Durango’s annual “Snowdown” winter festival - a four-day long antidote to cabin fever – held each year in mid-winter.

Guests enjoy a wonderful selection of fine wines, and receive a signed limited edition of the annual Snowdown Painting. All original artwork is auctioned to raise funds for the permanent protection of critical open lands.

Prints of recent Snowdown paintings, including “Radiant Sky” by Gayle Lewis (2007) and “Clouds” by John Grow (2008), as well as prints of previous paintings, are available from the Conservancy for $40 each. Click on these 2 paintings to enlarge.
