WAYS TO SUPPORT LPOSC

The nation is facing critical economic challenges and everyone is “cutting back” - it may be easy to dismiss land conservation as an unaffordable luxury. In fact, land conservation is an absolute necessity, if we are to live and prosper. An investment in land conservation is an investment that will keep on paying. There are many tax-wise ways to give, and every gift makes a difference.

  • Gifts of Cash or Securities: You can make tax-deductible donations in the form of personal or corporate checks, credit cards, and gifts of stock. Donors of appreciated stock can avoid capital gains taxes, as well as claim charitable gift deductions.
  • Planned Giving: You can make a long-term planned gift, and receive tax benefits, by making recurring donations on a regular basis and/or by including LPOSC in your will.
  • Employer Matching Gifts: Your employer may match your gift or pledge, often doubling your contribution.
  • Gifts of Real Estate: Your gift of excess real estate can provide significant tax benefits, and help LPOSC raise capital to protect important open lands.
  • Donations to “Only a Buck for Open Space” Program: You can support LPOSC and our local economy by supporting “Only a Buck” businesses, and/or enrolling your business in the “Only a Buck for Open Space” program. “Only a Buck” businesses collect voluntary $1 donations from their customers on regular sales and/or special promotions. Proceeds are used by LPOSC for land protection transactions. “Only a Buck” businesses include: Karyn Gabaldon Fine Arts, Kling Mountain Guides and Sunnyside Meats.
