Our mission is to permanently protect lands that have significant agricultural, wildlife, open space, recreational, historical, and archaeological resources for the benefit of the community and the public.
Since 1992, La Plata Open Space Conservancy has functioned as a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization serving southwestern Colorado, focusing on preserving agricultural and wildlife habitats.
The number of acres LPOSC protects increases each year as landowners and municipalities seek permanent ways to protect land for the benefit of natural resources, the community, and future generations.
